Dead brothel owner wins seat in Nevada state assembly

Brothel owner Dennis Hof has been elected to Nevada's state assembly – despite having died last month. The dead pimp soundly defeated his living Democratic opponent ( 69% to 31% ), triggering a complicated process to fill the now vacant seat.
Hof, 72, was running as a Republican in Nevada’s deeply-red Assembly District 36, which includes his hometown of Pahrump. The businessman humorously referred to himself the “Trump of Pahrump.” But Hof’s name could not be removed from the ballot after his sudden passing at his Love Ranch legal brothel last month.
Hof’s victory wasn’t unexpected, however. His own campaign urged voters to support the dead candidate in order to prevent the Democrats from controlling the seat.
His post-mortem electoral triumph triggers a rare and complex procedure which involves county commissions nominating a person to fill the seat. The chairmen of these commissions will then cast votes proportional to the size of their respective constituencies.

What have Republicans done with their power..... Chosen to increase the debt and deficit.

Stop being such a :censored2: and take some responsibility for your vote. You voted for fiscal Irresponsibility, that's all there is to it.
No, I voted for a better economy, which has increased government revenue. If they, and I mean Republicans and Democrats, aren't responsible with the surplus that's out of the average citizen's hands. If only your concern was extended to the previous administration, which doubled the debt. I do hope if Trump and company manage to substantially reduce the deficit that you'll be supportive, instead of critical of the handling of programs that have seen their funding reduced or eliminated.

Let's see a tombstone meme.

Of course, we could always choose to tax 'the rich' and the 'fat-cat corporations' into oblivion, effectively strangling the economy. Then where would your welfare state go to finance itself?

Better to choose to 'suffer' and unshackle the economy, creating jobs (especially for those who don't want one) and weaning the jobless off the teat and into a job. Teach a man to fish, and all that...

But then someone will get rich, and become a target for onerous taxes to support an unsupportable and unsustainable agenda.

Are you high?
The Republicans cut taxes and did not cut spending. Where do you think your welfare state will finance itself?

Hypocrite.

The cutting of taxes has increased revenue, not reduced it. The extra spending is the result of a Republican/Democrat compromise on the budget. We're all in this together, own it.

It's amazing all the headlines about corporations sitting on record piles of cash during the supposed over taxed years before Trump.
They were hoarding profits rather than investing in the country because of the high tax, high regulatory environment. Cut taxes, cut expensive regulations, and look what happened. They're in business to make money, not give it away.

Oh, look at that, another delusional baby boomer who refuses to take responsibility.

You are the problem with this country. It's always someone else's fault, even when your party has both houses and the presidency. You're a clown.
