They were hoarding profits rather than investing in the country because of the high tax, high regulatory environment. Cut taxes, cut expensive regulations, and look what happened. They're in business to make money, not give it away.
Oh that's right. None of these mega companies that sprouted in the last 30 years grew or made any money until 2018.

not what you responded to. companies were sitting on profits due to Obamas efforts to regulate the hell out of them and the uncertainty of Obamacare .

you are seeing those same corporations investing and expanding at a scale you did not see the 8 years prior. that investment is why this trump economy is much more then a suger high .

8 years later. be interesting to see what the new gov does with foxconn
In addition to the $3 billion incentives package put together by lawmakers, the state added in some extra spending – $764 million in local government incentives and $134 million to fix public infrastructure.
Overall, the costs currently exceed $4 billion.
The amount of time it would take for taxpayers to see return on the Foxconn investment is about 25 years, according to an independent state analysis, as reported by The Journal.

Corporate welfare at its finest.

There is no deal.
Foxconn does whatever they want.
Only a total chump would give them tax cuts for their fake promises.

Probably a done deal since construction has already started. Would bet that there would be tougher environmental regulations though. Evers will make any and all attempts to lessen the impact on taxpayers going forward.
This has been a pretty crappy deal and we will be stuck with most of it.

They picked up a third of the seats they lost under Obama’s entire tenure in one election. They won nearly 40 house seats and only lost 1 senate seat. It was a wave by any reasonable standard.
In the Governorships - Dims picked up 7 while a wave is 7 so a clear wave.
In the House ...maybe. The Repugs picked up 721 in 2010 and the Dims ~300 seats picked up 2018.
But not in the Senate or State Legislature.
The Senate is most likely 99.9% chance for Dims to lose 2 seats where the Dims needed to pickup 7 to be wave.
Definitely a big win for Dims but not a wave.

Ya, I said reasonable standard. A dem pickup of 7 senate seats is not reasonable. Thanks for trying.

WDFD why do I care how a blog defines a wave election? There is no set standard. Republicans got thrashed. They lost the suburbs, they lost everyone with an education. They lost everywhere people actually live. It was a wave.

Pathetic ... that's why I disdain Libs and Dims so much.
Libs and Dims don't think rules apply to them and laws do not either.
It does not surprise me that Libs & Dims want to dissolve the US Constitution and use a West European Socialist Democracy set of laws in place of the best form of government that has ever been on Earth.
