So I’m in a weird predicament that is probably super rare?

Transferred buildings back in February and ever since then I only work T-friend and get Saturday the day I should work off. So I’m at 4 days a week rather then 5

Now I’m debating if that extra $150-200 is worth working Saturday or should I enjoy my summer while I’m young.

My question is what would you do if you aren’t hurting for money, enjoy the 3 days weekends or work 5 days

How many hours do you need yearly towards the pension? Missing so many days might be a problem?

I’m in this exact predicament, as my newly bid route is cut on Mondays about 75% of the time. If it is cut, I work Tues-Sat that week, by Friday of the same week I know if it will or won’t be in for the following Monday.

Technically, I’m still a Mon-Fri driver, and as such, should be at the bottom on Saturdays. But as you can imagine, everyone on Saturday would prefer not being there so it’s not an issue to pick the route I want.

All of that being said, I’m in a comfortable position in my life where I don’t “need” to work Saturday and could do Tue-Fri, but I also don’t want to give up $300 (days pay) and the compound interest it could produce.

not to worried about this to much once i hit top rate days off wont be there
Yes, but do you have enough credit hours? This could come back to bite you in the arse years from now when they tell you you do not qualify yet. It all depends on the number of credit hours you have to work.

Work "safer" during the 4 days that you are on and you will receive a five day paycheck. Enjoy your 3 day weekend. Its a win win.

If you are young, figure out how to put away as much $$ as possible from each paycheck, Dump into your 401K or DSPP or other investments, your wallet will thank you when you retire. if you are averaging 700-800(probably higher) take home, see if you can live on 400-500 a week, put away 300+ it adds up fast. And enjoy those 3 day weekends!

Are you at full rate or still in progression? In progression take the day off. At full rate I would work.

No point in killing your body for 20 bucks an hour
