45% Of Doctors Would Consider Quitting If Congress Passes Health Care Overhaul

Don't fall for that. It is simply not true. Doctors spend millions of dollars a year lobbying Congress to change Medicare or to stop the Government from making it worse. This is an article from before the current debate but it seems a little less biased since it was done before the current argument. I was in a specialists office last week and they were putting up a sign saying they were also no longer accepting Medicare patients.

http://www.heartland.org/policybot/results/11799/Why_Doctors_Are_Leaving_Medicare.html

It's not perfect, and I'm not pretending to be a Doctor, but why would 58.3 percent of physicians favor expanding Medicare, the public health insurance plan for seniors over 65 years old, to people aged 55 and over, according to the NEJM...

Now, your starting to piss me off teeguy.

That's "Tea"guy....with an a......

Whew crap look out the beer bottles will be flying now.

Yep I can go see one. then wait three months for an xray and 9 more months to get the biopsy done on that strange growth.

If however i feel that wait is too long I can go to america and they'll pay some of the bills for me.

Whats that got a swine flu epidemic. No problem the government will provide a vaccine two months after the americans have it.

No problem just go to america and get your shot now.

Klien don't get pissed at me I'm not the one that stuck you with that crappy government provided health care system.

I know, your H1N1 first shot is available Oct1st, ours is Nov 1st.
Just that you need to go back for a second shot, (probably in Nov), and we have 1 shot does it all.
Besides, we get to test it on Americans first, before we take it.
Nothing wrong with that.

What you don`t know, if an epedemic does arise, we can get it here fast tracked , too.
I believe in the no rush, therory.
Let you be the guinea pig.

Actually, what kinda makes me mad, is the waste of money.. Canada ordered 80 million shots for a population of only 30 Mill...
That was overkill. Waste of money.
But, they know more then I do... I`m not an expert, and much of it will probably be given away to 3rd World countries.

my god your sicker then I thought.

so what you're telling me is the government could fast track a vaccine and save X amount of lives but they choose not too unless there is a full blown epidemic first?

This is the great government provided canadian health care system at work.

Heartland is a right wing advocacy group, who among aother things:
The Institute has been actively involved in debate over tobacco policy, opposing restrictions on smoking and criticizing science which documents the harms of secondhand smoke.[11] Given the close financial and organizational relationship between the tobacco industry and the Heartland Institute, Americans for Nonsmokers' Rights described the Heartland Institute as "an active partner of the tobacco industry".[12]

Heartland has been criticized for employing executives from such corporations as ExxonMobil and Philip Morris on its board of directors and in its public relations department.[13][14] The Heartland Institute disputes this criticism, stating that "no one on Heartland's board of directors works for a tobacco company (Roy Marden retired years ago) or for an oil company (Walter Buchholtz was on the board but no longer is)."[15] Heartland states that it does not accept government funds and does not conduct "contract" research for special-interest groups

They probably had to buy 80 million shots in order to get the great discount you boast so much about...The US may not be subsidizing this for you.

A technician holds a master H1N1 virus sample, for the pre-production of a vaccine against pandemic H1N1 influenza Avirus at a GlaxoSmithKline laboratory in Dresden, Germany. (GlaxoSmithKline/Reuters) The federal government will order 50.4 million doses of swine flu vaccine, and will pick up 60 per cent of the cost, Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq announced Thursday.
The number of doses is enough for all Canadians who want and need to be vaccinated against the H1N1 pandemic virus, said Dr. David Butler-Jones, chief public health officer of Canada.
The total cost will be more than $400 million, Butler-Jones told reporters.
A spokesperson for the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline said the entire order for the vaccine will be produced at its factory in Quebec City.

Actually more than 172 died from N1H1.

Well, take your shot if you are that worried.
I feel sorry for those 172, but every year hundreds die on the commen flu in every country.

I`m not worried. I should be much more worried, everytime I take my car out for a drive, or walk accross a street.

Life is too short to worry.

How does the epidemic thing work in Canada.

How many canadians have to die to equal an epidemic.

What is the magic number that requires the government to decide that they now need to fast trac the vaccine?

Silly me I thought we were talking about Canadas health care system.

With that attitude why even bother getting health care at all.

I learned that Canada now has apple pie, and nobody in the US or Canada had healthcare before 1969.

The fact remains, that the right wing political machine needs guys like BRETT, TIEGUY, AV8 and the like to further the propaganda machine.

Mis-information is the key rather than a legitimate debate.. Plenty of "could's, maybe's and possibly's" are the main argument to the republicans positions.

All you have to do is watch FAUX news every morning and that blonde nitwit and the young guy with the crooked neck will repeat every 10 mins some story using MIS-INFORMATION on the health care battle, then they will bring in a guest, usually a republican to come on and use the magic words: Maybe, possibly, could be, .....

They are never challenged to back up any claims they make on the air.

In addition, when all else fails, plan B is attack the trial lawyers...those same lawyers who fight for people who were "wronged" by some botched operation or care.

The alternative proposed by the right wing is to CAP the awards against doctors to around 150K (lifetime) for damages. They would rather leave the american public maimed or disfigured with a small amount of cash and leave the offending doctor in practice, in tack.

All the followers of the right wing have NO CLUE that they are harming themselves by supporting this position.

I for one, will not claim that the republican base has any intelligent thought when it comes to health care reform.

Bible belt dropouts who attend town halls with guns and nazi signs are far from qualified from addressing anyone on health care, except on FAUX news.

There, they have a voice, a voice of stupidity. They are among the dumbest people on the air.

FAUX with its repeated host of morons from Karl Rove, Michael Steele, Dennis Miller and Sean Hannity provide nothing more than exagerated hyperbole when they air segments on health care.

In this piece of nonsense BRETT posted, it would appeal to the most ignorant segment of our society who want to weigh in on health care.

The right wing is trying real hard to confuse america, and to their credit, they are doing a good job. Unfortunately for the republicans, health care will pass easily and this will pass making the republicans look like the out of control party they are.

This isnt canada, and it isnt the UK. We have plenty of doctors and nurses and those careers arent going to disapear anytime soon. As for a decline in enrollment, this is a financial issue and not a POLITICAL decision as loans are harder to come by these days.

Twisting up facts and numbers so followers can repeat them gets my nuts in a bunch.

What america needs is a debate minus the political affiliations. If you all knew the behind the scenes lobbying the health industry is doing to the republicans, it would make you puke.

The health industry needs to keep things the way they are, its about profit not people. For this reason, they consider themselves to be "conservatives".

The republicans are the party of business, not people. They use PEOPLE to carry out the nature of protecting business. A true conservative wants to change nothing but the argument at hand to suit the goal of keeping things the same.

Brett, gobble this up, you and BABAGANOUSH are the biggest swallowers of right wing garbage out there...

Its sad, cause it lends nothing to the debate on health care.

See thats just it. I'm trying to learn from Klien on how this government health care system works.

Now Klien says canadians will get their swine flu vaccine in november a full month behind the US. Though in ohio I noticed the flu vaccines are already out.

Klien assured me the government they have really cares and would speed up the production if they felt they had an epidemic.

So the natural question in learning from Klien and maybe you if you're into reducing propaganda and answering questions is how many canadians have to die before the loving ,giving canadian government decides they have an epidemic.

Here I'm trying to eliminate propaganda and yet I can not get a straight answer on this question.

No one can answer what the future holds.
In a few months from now, however, we shall see which country had it right , once again.
