They send a message out midday today we have been bumped up to 70 hours

Drivers who were approaching the 60 hour limit were all ready to head back and then the 70 hour rule was announced via Diad earlier this afternoon at our building in Jersey. Anyone in local 177 know if over 60hrs is double time? Our center manager said it was time and half for over 60.

Article 26 section 5 of the NMA

All hours worked over 60, whether forced or volunteer, is double time, regardless of any supplemental or rider language.

Our center was declined the 70hr request. Which doesn’t really matter to me. Would suck if that’s how it was all year, but this is peak and my family knows how it goes every year and I’m still relatively young so my body can handle it. It’s money making season baby!

I was asked if I wanted to work tomorrow, and I respectfully declined due to be being fatigued to the point of being an unsafe driver. I reiterated to my boss 3 different times that I was fatigued.
