I hear it's going on in other centers about the 9.5 not being honored and they are just paying the grievance. Im just a tech so can any of you maybe help out with some pointers on how to help change the over dispatch???? It's crazy drivers coming in after 1030pm even ona Friday night when volume is lower than normal. Obviously we break the contract causing a slow down so we don't want that. Please share some what you would do , others have done and a few I would not do's and some funny do's so I can just send them a link to the comments here to help them out. Sorry long sentence also maybe talked about already I just haven't been on much. Aso update on the where the national grievance is on this situation ( I heard there was one) Thanks

Technically 9.5 is being honored. Ultimately, the only penalty is more money, not necessarily a guarantee of less hours.

Honest advice- if you don't like it leave. It doesn't get any better.

Also get a library card from your local library and check out audiobooks for free via libby app.

Do you still get a meeting with the labor manager after 4 9.5 grievances. Back in the day I had that happen labor manager made the center manager look the bumbling idiot he was.
Never had another 9.5 problem

Bans = Control…. Moving on
1. Walk around in morning with grievance forms in your hand.
2. Message everyday 9.5 status.
3. Fax forms in weekly so no delay
4. Get that $….vacations are ramping up. By Thursday Friday your load will get easier after a few weeks. Enjoy your summer.

Like a boss…. Get this….. I told them in the OMS office I bought a fax machine 📠 to send my own forms to the local. After that they wouldn’t let me come to panel hearings early in the morning. Thur Fri my shelf 7 8 had bare metal. Yes I went there.

Historic contract. Enjoy working late. Excessive overtime wasn't a contract priority, if it were, all hours past 9.5 would be automatic double time.

What exactly are you sending to your local? And why are you sending it via fax?

I always proposed every contract that after the third 9.5 all hours worked for that week would be triple time pay. All hours

Ever break this down?

Driver works 10.5 five days.
All hours over 9.5 = 5.
45*3(triple time) = $135
times 5= $675 for the week.
Do it every week (which is impossible with vacations and peak) you get $35,100
If every driver did this (which doesn’t happen) UPS could do this to three drivers and it would still be significantly cheaper than hiring one driver for the year.

Checkmate.

What amazes me is when management is walking around asking why everyone was overallowed. I mean come on, half the building is on the overallowed list EVERY day and they have the cajones to actually walk up and ask.

Go back to your air-conditioned office and make some excel spreadsheets and leave me the hell alone.

Just cash in when you can. Remember not to long ago everyone seemed to be crying about not getting or barely making 8 hours.

Work when they offer, take time off when you can and don’t complicate things. It’s a marathon not a sprint. (This coming from a guy who’s nearing the finish line)

Still, triple time makes the overtime easier to take. They are going to load drivers up anyway, might as well make the bucks.

This is solid math and has to be the driving force.
Your 9.5 check is pittance compared to them hiring a new driver and paying their health n wellness package.
