What like giving the Medal of Freedom to a drunk golfer who cheated flagrantly on his spouse and had so many mistresses that it even made Trump jealous? But then again if Trump can give MOF to Elvis who OD while sitting on the crapper and died 42 years ago then clearly the standard for being deserving of it has been lowered to the point to where even you should be considered .
Tiger is one of the greatest golfers in history. Do you not believe in redemption? Guess not if Trump likes him.

He made million playing golf that he lavished on his mistresses . Is that deserving of the nation's highest civilian honor? An honor that in the past that has generally been reserved for people who made great contributions in the fields of science, engineering, education humanities etc. Not often to a guy who can take a little stick and hit a little ball into a little hole.

Wasn't Obama given the same award?
I don't think Obama made any contributions in the "fields" you mention...

Yes America is a jock nation and presidents of both parties used the award for political grandstanding but if you look more closely you will see that some of them used their sports achievements as a means to promote social causes, academics and heroism and was based more on that criteria that shooting 5 under par as it well should be. In the case of Woods the people who should get the award are the surgeons who performed his back surgery . Clearly the criteria for being awarded the metal needs to be revised in the hope that someday the PMF will once again actually mean something.

Wow.

The guy will die from pancreatic cancer.

He is given an an Emmy Award for his achievements.... and his first thought was

he hoped he didn't win, because of a sympathy vote.

Does the word humility, ring a bell ?
Actually, the first word that came to my head was "Canadian".

First thing that came to mind was jealously. Socialists can't stand someone having a highly successful, highly lucrative career. We must all be equal. Even if all pay was equal they'd complain because that guy gets to host a game show while they schlep boxes. What's wrong with the world is the perpetually dissatisfied never stop complaining, even when they're doing well. Looking at you @MrFedEx .

TGR Foundation - Wikipedia

"TGR Foundation was established in 1996 by Tiger Woods and his father, Earl Woods, to create and support community-based programs that improve the health, education, and welfare of all children in America. Currently, the foundation has established several programs and events such as the TGR Learning Labs, Hero World Challenge, Genesis Open, The National, and Tiger Jam which all benefit and impact the lives of millions of children.

The Tiger Woods Foundation is about empowering minorities, especially underprivileged minority students. The TGRF’s goal is for these students to be given the support and resources needed to be successful in school and beyond. In over the 20 years that this foundation has been opened they have served more than 175,000 students, as well as employing 1,000 educators each year. The foundation has been so successful due to its goal of “developing self-advocacy skills in young people,” that their students have a 98.7% college graduation rate, which is one of the highest graduation rates of a scholarship program in the country.

One of the greatest things about this foundation is that Tiger Woods created this program because he saw a hole in the society that he wanted to fill. He created this foundation because "I wanted a permanent, safe space for kids to explore their dreams" -Tiger Woods. He founded this program to help impoverished children and young adults, and in the past 22 years of it being opened, he has exceeded all expectations of this foundation."
