As an unloader I smash trailers on the daily,I started off mediocre around 950-1100 my 1st two weeks. Now, hovering around 1400-1600 ph with a quality sorter. For the last 3 weeks no one wants to sort me, is this the norm at every hub? (Can't wait til we're automated!)

If sorting is so easy, why not pass the sort test and try it. Make the extra Dollar an hour.

How much extra are they paying you to "smash" trailers?

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
Feels cool when you're new. Because maybe you're coming from a job or place in life where hard work got you noticed. At UPS, it only gets you more work.

Don't smash your body over the months and years trying to be some sort of hero.
I heard they already want to promote him to pt sup.

Whoaaa, wait a second.. 15 years ago we jad to know where all the packages went as a sorter.. now all you have to do is look at a pal label and put it wher it goes, they still cant get that right... unload that truck... blow em out...

Also being a unloader is easy these days... conveyor belt goes in 90 percent of the trailor..

Try unloading without a conveyor belt, and pushing everything out..

Lunch is the best part of the day
The moment you can't smash trailers because of illness or injury or you just want a break you will be treated like trash just like the rest.

I've seen more than a few gung-ho guys like yourself start out crushing trailers and talking :censored2: about your coworkers. The ones that are still employed figured out when to turn it on and when to hold back. I'm not endorsing the lazy asses that are constantly checking their phones, hiding in the restroom, etc. but theres no need to blast the sort aisle out of some misplaced macho duty of manhood.

I'm a hard worker. If the guys on my unload crew were ranked, I would be in the top third. But for me, the name of the game is survival. I don't want to wreck my body for $10.50/hr.
