Best part of retirement, not returning after peak

No combined routes, no extra pickups, no follow ups, no anything about UPS

show for me today. 120 stops on rural route.

Gave me an unsolicited air meet at like 3 pm. Basically they knew they ed me.

It was my first peak not working since retirement and it was the best Christmas ever.It was nice not having to work til 10 to 11 at night.

Why stay thru peak? Unless your birthday is 12-26? Or Just to get the 7 weeks vacay pay? May as well hang in to get those 500 hours in 2018 for bigger pension, more than half of it would be on vacation? That's how it is in the West anyway.

In my local ( 25 ) , it's bases on hours worked per year ( Max 1800 hrs ) with the year ending on 12-25 . It works out better to stay in until after the last week of the year. You end up with UPS covering a couple of months worth of health care .
