Better, not Bigger

Sorry fellas but we already gave UPS the keys to the castle. Between PVD’s and the cradle, they’d get the volume delivered. It wouldn’t be pretty at first but much like the learning curve with the PVD’s, they’d figure it out.

Guess what....they’re scabs and would have no problem walking right past us on the way in.

The boat has sailed and at this point it’s just a waiting game. For us at the top it probably won’t effect us but you new drivers, your position will more than likely look nothing like it does now in 10-15 years.

What qualifies as a scab? Because PVDs here all paid union dues. So are they really scabs? Or just seasonal employees?

I look at as they were allowed to exist because UPS had the union over a barrel. Never before have we allowed non employees work outside of peak season. Yes I agree that they were just taking advantage of a situation that we were in, but once they started down the tracks the union couldn’t stop them. That’s why I call them scabs, perhaps it wasn’t intentional but they prevented real employees from either getting hired or resulted in a loss of hours to existing employees.

For the new drives it will be exactly the same as now. 250 to 300 stops and out till 9:30 every night for $20/hr

UPS was making billions the way things were last year...Drivers and PVDs.

They will be looking to extend and codify that model. They will also be looking to avoid a strike at nearly any cost.

Let's face it, UPS has real competition now. They risk becoming a bit player if a strike happens. Yes, they would get through it, but to recover to their former self might take years. Wall Street does not wait years.

Why would the guys and girl at the top risk injuring the cash cow?

Expect year round PVDs with a proportional cap similar to 22.4s. Marginal $1 a year raises. Perhaps a freeze (no increase) on pension contributions.

But two years of green new deal and other disastrous economic policies could cripple the economy and all bets would be off.

"Better not Bigger"

Goodbye to 30,000+ assets and (maybe) 10,000 more people. Tome will keep her "leadership" because they covered the incompetency's long enough to make $800M on the deal. 75+years of development flushed away..

More to come....AMZN's prize acquisition is shedding what is not necessary.....
