I look at as they were allowed to exist because UPS had the union over a barrel. Never before have we allowed non employees work outside of peak season. Yes I agree that they were just taking advantage of a situation that we were in, but once they started down the tracks the union couldn’t stop them. That’s why I call them scabs, perhaps it wasn’t intentional but they prevented real employees from either getting hired or resulted in a loss of hours to existing employees. What qualifies as a scab? Because PVDs here all paid union dues. So are they really scabs? Or just seasonal employees?

Sorry fellas but we already gave UPS the keys to the castle. Between PVD’s and the cradle, they’d get the volume delivered. It wouldn’t be pretty at first but much like the learning curve with the PVD’s, they’d figure it out.
Guess what....they’re scabs and would have no problem walking right past us on the way in.
The boat has sailed and at this point it’s just a waiting game. For us at the top it probably won’t effect us but you new drivers, your position will more than likely look nothing like it does now in 10-15 years.
For the new drives it will be exactly the same as now. 250 to 300 stops and out till 9:30 every night for $20/hrbut you new drivers, your position will more than likely look nothing like it does now in 10-15 years.
Ill bring the hot dogs. Our BA has been hinting that the company is gonna try to get us to strike next contract.
My guess is UPS feels like a 10 dollar cut, not a raise.
