Thankfully the Democrats in control of the cities and states didn't downplay the seriousness of the situation, and despite having to fight the gullible Trump supporters, who believed him when he said this was nothing, "its like the flu"
Maybe if he told the truth at the beginning there wouldn't have been as much push back against his early efforts to slow the viruses spread. Another example of Trumps poor leadership ability. A good leader would have explained the situation and rallied the country to prepare, but Trump only knows how to divide.
