Can Management force you to work for building in another state?

Need more info.
What position are you?
Is your route being moved to that building?
Is the building part of your local union?

22.4. I'm a cover driver so no, not route. No idea if that building is part of my union but I would guess yes (DC Area) it's a Maryland hub

Have you reached out to your BA or shop steward?

I took a quick look at the Atlantic supp. I didn't see anything on the subject. I would contact your BA and ask.

Our Stews haven't been around. One is quitting and another is EAM. I have to go to another center to find one it seems.

As the title says, is this something that can be forced? In Mid-Atlantic 639

Burtonsville sucks. No you don’t have a choice. Welcome to the bottom of the totem pole.
For those asking it’s temporary. The building is an absolute mess. Treat that center as a vacation day. Your center has no expectations of you when your helping Burtonsville. They know it’s bad. Your probably in a rental. But it’s an easy 12 hour day. Take your time. Your gonna bring back stops. Your probably not going to have a handcart. Don’t hurt yourself, follow the methods and make sure you have a portable battery charger.

Yes because I’ve been there multiple times. From 1900 packages in a moose to countless erregs-appt building routes and 450 stops on a blind route with no nav. Local Sups get sent there to help. Drivers from PA/DE/VA and DC have been going there since COVID started. Don’t feel bad about being sent there. Just remember we are paid by the hour and they appreciate your help despite everyone’s god awful attitude there. Your center has zero expectations for you when you are sent there. They just dont want you to get hurt or in an accident. That’s it. Take your time. Don’t stress it.

I know in my building we can't be forced to work in another building. We can be forced to work in another center in our own building though.

If needed at another building my local makes them allow you to clock in at your home building then take a package car to the other building. Stay on the clock till you’re back to yours.
