Central States Pension Fund cuts

Even that isn't enough if you like the casinos and live beyond your means. There is no magic number. If you still have a house payment, car payments, kids living at home, kids in college, a high maintainence wife or moochie relatives you can blow through money big time. If you have lived the high life while working and expect to do the same after retiring you may be in for a rude awakening.
I dont live the high life and things are still tight, I will have to make big adjustments when i retire, and thats fine. I guess i am one of the few that was counting on a pension check, I dont understand why all these millionaire ups drivers even care about a pension

I don't think you understand. The 50 cent pay cut would go toward funding the pensions of complete strangers. Would you still be willing to do it?

In our local we have diverted several split raises to our severely underfunded pension.

It hasn't helped.
I would support a dollar an hour pay cut as a fulltime maxed out driver for UPS employees only

Bingo and it's not going to. Not for a very long time at least. Pensions don't become underfunded overnight and they sure as hell cant be brought back from the dead overnight. It takes years and years and the quickest most efficient way to do it is to cut benefits.

If the company puts in 500k on my behalf over my career I damn well expect to see it. Regardless of if I have 10 million in personal savings or not.

That's like saying Upsers make good money I don't know why they feel they need insurance.

Just like Social Security.

I have been paying into it all my life and expect to receive my calculated monthly payment when I retire whether or not I need it.

I know, it will probably be bankrupt also and not there when I retire.

Slash my pension AND social security when I retire. Ain't America great?

Agree 100% I am at 30 yrs, And from what I see here everyone doesn't plan on getting a pension Because they have a couple million in investments.., so I understand why the current UPS retirees are angry That is money EARNED...

I am curious as to what the central contribution rate is?

All the language says is increase of $20 per week year after year.
