Changing position

My son was told he had to quit his position at UPS before applying for an internal position. If he doesn’t get the position he applied for he will not be able to go back to his original position. This information was told by a manager. Is this true? I don’t know if his manager is lying to keep him because he is ready to quit. He’s been there for almost 5 years. Also during his orientation a few years ago he was told he can apply within, I’m just confused where the quitting fit into all this, just for him to get another position. He work in the Philadelphia area.

The only way this makes any sense is if he's a supervisor now trying to get hired as a driver.

Is he trying to go to a different position in a different building?

My son is 20. He’s still a growing and learning adult. So please watch your mouth.
Respect goes both ways.

That being said...

You are an adult.

Just as your 20 year old adult child.

At 20 i had already...

Well thats not important.

With all due respect to elders...

You watch your mouth.

Try getting that same toughness with your child and we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

But...

I am always willing to help.

At 20---- I was sitting on an APC behind a 50 cal. machine gun in Vietnam. (My mom didn't want me there either). :-)
