We are government contractors, that's why the ups starting wage had to be raised from 8 to 10+ a few years back.

Seriously. I once knocked on a door in a sketchy neighborhood for a sig-required, someone called out “Who is it?”, so I replied “UPS!”…. The person inside then said “Do you have a warrant?!”… Nope, just a signature required package.
Weirdos. I’m glad I usually cover a commercial bulk route now.
