Just do it and stop griping about it. It's not going to go away, so just get used to putting it in the diad holder instead of the holder. You're just making things harder for yourself for no reason at all.

I use mine until the board crashes. After I restart it, I use the cradle sporadically. My guess is that I am under 29%. Probably under 15%.

Its new here and they are pushing 90% usage but they are not demanding we go to the stop yet.
They pushed it when it was new for us also. Then boards started crashing. Mine was crashing every 20-30 minutes or so. Got to the point when I figured it was the cradle, recognized when it was going to crash, quit using the cradle and the crashes stopped. Supe said to write up the cradle, the mechanic said that there was nothing he could do about it. If the cradle charges the board, automotive said it is OK for service.

They’ve enforced cradle usage and next stop selection here. Thankfully Orion % isn’t enforced because the massive roads I traverse next to a port terminal would of caused me to either wait 10 minutes to cross the road or just get straight up boned by a semi

Also, road construction season is in full swing here. I usually make 2 construction detours a day. They change daily, so it is not something I can tell them to add to the orion notes. I mostly follow the plan, the biggest changes I make is that I do not run ground with air (per the bosses) and I run some neighborhoods in reverse so I can deliver right out the passenger door.

Here in So Cal, they are pushing it hard....saying I was at 79%. Tried going straight to a warning write up for me and 5-6 other drivers. Our steward stepped in and told me it would be thrown out. Our center manager said it wasn't him but it was coming from above him....someone higher in the district but i am 9.5 and file every week....i ask other guys if they use it and they say no but aren't being targeted. Hmmmm, what do do guys???

Next stop selection will be next for you. Make you bookmark your next stop so the drive path can be monitored.

It’s like any other method. Some are good and help you work safe. The other 300 are for targeted discipline that makes it har to prove harassment. Just my opinion.

It's kind of funny how the old timers at our center staunchly refuse to use the cradles. We had one veteran with 20 recording while travelling instances because he keeps his DIAD in his pouch while driving. He's got one of the trucks where the old DIAD holder had to be removed in order to fit the cradle.

I don't even care about using the cradle, its the fact that they are junk and the have become a bigger distraction now when not working correctly than they ever were before having them. Our mechanics said they are not their responsibility so I send diad messages everytime it starts acting up.

Hasn't the company said that ORION and the cradle.... is just a tool ?
I agree union brother but when we get DIAD messages to use cradle 100% it is no longer a “tool” and is now enforced

what shall we do union brother?

RDO in conjunction with the maps we can print allows a driver to get the big picture. Not to mention work with the damn load.

Scrap Orion, sell it to Amazon, just let us do it how DRIVERS know how to do it. This is not the way.

Yep, I've been telling people they will start doing that. Some don't believe me but they will see.

As soon as they do I'm following ORION. Scrolling through my board for my next stop is a waste of time and not a method.

Asked my center manager "when am I supposed to scroll and look for my next stop? While walking to my truck when I should be scanning my walk path? Or when sitting in my truck when I should be moving out without delay?"

Told him no I'll just follow ORION.
