Didn't disclose ovi during interview

From experience I can say that simple background checks for PT package handlers can take a day or less.
PT management background checks can take several days.
FT management and specialist background checks can take upwards of a business week.
The best way to tell where you're at is to talk to people you listed as references, if they have been contacted, you know you're in the process. If not, they haven't started or you've hit a snag. Regardless, you should be in contact with the person attempting to hire you. It's a simple phone call.

As for the DUI, you will not be eligible to drive for a while nor any position that requires any potential to be on-car, management or otherwise.

As for the general disclosure that only felonies hurt you, yes and no. As I said, simple phone call. If you can't man up and get the job by calling in and inquiring, even if that means disclosing an embarrassing past incident; then you have no business getting the job by keeping quiet. If you do get hired, first thing you'll learn is that as a management person, integrity is a big deal.

I see it as a lead in question, no you were not arrested for a Felony, but the next part would be mention od the DUI arrest.
Might be the same as the question "have you ever filed for bankruptcy?" answer no, and maybe a person had a house foreclosure 6 months previous. It would then be wise to mention it as the Employer will see it when they pull the credit report.

Don't get me wrong, it was a huge mistake and something I'v learned from. Lot's of people have dui's though so that was my train of thought for not sharing it during the interview.

So I'm not sure if they saw it and just dismissed me, or if I'm being paranoid and the background check is taking a little longer. Is a week a typical timeframe?

Should of told them.
