Yeah. Well when has theat ever happened and what crazy people thought that cutting taxes would magically get them to do so? It’s not like we don’t have history to learn from, we just seem to refuse to do so.
Why we still paying tax to wire schools fot the internet?

And trumps response was we should do the same.

Doesn’t sound like anyone’s winning to me

does anyone think china will cave in a week?

does anyone really think we can keep letting china get away with flooding the market with cheaper goods?

if the answer is no when is the right time to have this fight and reign china in?

Yes anytime somebody gets to keep their money is bad instead we should just give it to the government s

Are you willing to accept reduced services in exchange for lower taxes? Never saw a clucker yet who was willing to do that. Read the other day that Pennsylvania a state while not great but isn't in nearly as bad a shape as some other states announced a major reduction in highway projects and improvements. Give it a couple of years three at the most and the cluckers will be hollering about the bad roads.

I would have been all for this 25 -30 years ago. When it could have been won in a reasonable amount of time.

Now it’s a global economy and America isn’t powerful enough to take on someone like China by themselves. We’d need the rest of the world behind us also

actually that may be the reason now is the time. we still have the most powerful economy in the world.

china unchecked could have changed that in 3 to 5 years. at that point we lose the leverage of slapping them with our much stronger economy.

china sells 600 billions dollars worth of goods more to us then we sell to them.
in a tariff war who loses the most? Clearly china has more to lose.

Spot on. It all began when Nixon went to China to normalize relations and find a way out of Vietnam but ended up creating a source of very cheap labor which US capitalists have been exploiting ever since. Now with a much more powerful China Trump seeks the help of our allies to stem their expansionist aspirations ........He should have though about that before he alienated them.

China has going for it the only two things that matter. Time and a one party political system that does not tolerate political dissent in any form along with a president for life.

Their response and it's a valid point is that it has a disproportionate number of highway miles to maintain which are subject to accelerated wear by weather conditions as well as the being the west to east transportation corridor.
