You don't have to drive like granny just be defensive. Always expect the cars around you to do the wrong thing almost like they are all trying to hit you and you'll be fine. It's not hard. It's when guys get overwhelmed with the work that causes dumb stuff to happen.

Btw while we're answering dumb questions is this serious? I keep my eyes to the front for 2 secs then to the rear 5 to 8 seconds? So they want me to look at whats behind my truck most of my day?

It means move your eyes to look out the front every two seconds and check the mirrors every 5-8
