One of the things that makes America great is the ability to be able to speak your mind . In some countries if you try to speak your mind you can be thrown in jail or worse . In this country over the last couple years The media and the radical left has tried to squash the ability of people to have free speech . Elon Musk who is all about free speech is putting his money to work . He is now one of the largest shareholders and is on the board of Twitter which should make Twitter open to free speech once again . The leftist radicals and the media are very upset about this which just goes to show you there is proof that they are anti-free speech . Everybody in America who loves freedom and loves this country should be extremely pleased of this recent move . God bless America !!! :usaflag2:

Free speech was a tool used by the left to subvert all institutions, and once it got power, completely censors speech and any contrary opinions. Free speech isn’t a good idea.

It always amazes me how many people just don't get freedom of speech as it pertains to the 1st amendment of our constitution. It only pertains to govt restrictions of your rights and the media's right to speak about things. In no way does a company such as Facebook, Twitter or even this website have to allow you to speak about anything you want. They can ban, delete and block you for anything they want at any time. And being a publicly traded company doesn't change that. Obviously there are certain things you can't say without being held liable for slander or defamation. For those who still don't get it go get a copy of the constitution!

Did anybody claim the constitution was being violated? Just because it isn't against the constitution, doesn't mean that there isn't a huge problem. If rich, powerful people own the news, they can cover what they want and not cover what they don't want you to know. Then, if the same powerful people own the social media, they can control what you're allowed to talk about and what you're not allowed to talk about. It is usually not in the public's interest if you can't tell the truth without being censored, whether or not it's the government doing the censoring.

That's not entirely correct. Newspapers and other media outlets are held to certain standards by the government and if they violate those standards they can be held accountable through lawsuits. The Social Media giants like Twitter have been given exceptions to that because it was agreed they don't editorialize like newspapers but are just platforms and shouldn't be held responsible for what is posted on their platform. They run the risk of losing that exception when they take sides and shut down one side in favor of another. Since they favor Democrats they won't lose their protections as long as Democrats are in power. But if they're able to use their power to shut down conservative alternatives like Parlor or to keep any mention of political corruption by their favored candidates off their platform then when Republicans take back Congress one of the first things they should do is strip liability protections from the social media platforms.

The argument is that these institutions have become that, institutions. These things are the new public forum and require regulation. Instead, they serve the global American hegemonic order that silences dissent and promotes gay ideology.

I didn't say anything about the first amendment . I said the idiots on the radical left are running the information and communication format's in this country . And they are upset that this is happening . Because they are to stupid to realize that shutting down opinions (regardless of how you feel about it) will affect everyone eventually !!!
