Excellent Waterproofing Spray

Since we’re soon going to be in “nice” weather, I wanted to post about a waterproofing spray. I sprayed it recently on my nylon hooded FedEx parka and it seemed like it worked very well.

It’s called Silicone Water Guard, made by Atsko, the company that makes Sno Seal. They also make an “extreme” version, but I don’t think it’s much better.

NIX wax, you'll thank me later. Also can be washed into most clothing, including our "waterproof" hah rain coats...

I’ve used the Nik wash in stuff on my parka and I found this spray to be far superior. The Nik in a tube is pretty good for boots, though I think Sno Seal or Obenauf’s work better.

I have had good results with the KIWI Camp Dry Heavy Duty Water Repellent (Silicone).

I use it on the 100% nylon FedEx parkas and on my nylon rain gear (not FedEx) for 3 season rains on the ramp.

Works great, but need to reapply after detergent washing.

When I run out I will try the Atsko.
