the motion filed by Trumps lawyers clearly states that they were trying to preserve attorney/client privileged documents and did not want the FBI to view them.

the DOJ's counter motion argued that there was no need for a special master since their "taint" team had already viewed all documents.

your cult leader will then point out the request included a special master with a high level security clearance. That move was clearly to counter a possible argument by the DOJ that those documents were classified which in reality still has to be argued in court. so rather than allow the DOJ another opportunity to put up another road block you ask for a special master with the appropriate classification rights.

at some point the classification argument comes down to did trump declassify everything he took too maralago.

to win that argument the DOJ will have to have the person who has a higher declassification authority than the president to dispute trump.
constitutionally that person does not exist. The president is the man . the god of declassification.

Executive privilege will only go so far when it comes to protection from a crime. And right now that all trump's lawyers have.

I never post opinions,just facts that validate my posts. The Fact that the FBI stated they had Probable Cause of illegal possession of NDI documents in the original affidavit was enough for me. I wasn't surprised at all when the FBI released factual information stating that indeed a great NDI documents had been found improperly stored.

Trump's lawyers are going to have an uphill battle trying to prove that executive privilege is sufficient to get Trump out of this one, especially given that the likelihood of getting paid is almost nonexistent . If he had simply answered the subpoena gave a full complete and accurate accounting of what he had down there then simply sent it back, matter over and done with . He's playing reality show with the national security interests of the US.

If the DOJ takes it's evidence in front of a federal grand jury and the GJ says it's good to go, we'll see what the MAGA's and the Proud Boys and the Q-Anon's do about it. If they turn violent it will simply prove Biden right.

Sure he has his MAGA's but will that be enough to get him a second term when he couldn't win the popular vote in either presidential election?

Perhaps he'll try to run but getting IN the White House may become secondary to staying OUT of the Big House.
