FedEx eliminates Smartpost to the PO. UPS must eliminate Surepost to PO.

Ups has stated that starting January 1, 2019 they will be starting Sunday delivery. There are two moving parts here because 22.4's will be delivering surepost on Sundays and they also have a deal in place that the post office will be delivering surepost on sunday as well. I though cannot confirm what the percentages are but we will be delivering more of our surepost just not all of it.

So you future it and the clerk knows to remove that exception and address correct it? Does your whole building so this? We’ll circle the destination address and sheet as NSS since nobody’s route has a street called PO Box,or in the case of the 45lb boxes of dog food that occasionally have surepost labels we sheet them as overweight from the other page of the non-delivery menu, sheeting it as a future seems like it might be falsifying your records

No we are instructed to future the packages to be delivered to the final mile destination.

We note it on the label, circle the (tiny) final mile address and the clerk A/Cs the pkg to go out the next day...therefore it was futures to the next day.

45 lbs is overweight per the surepost guidelines,I don’t have a street called PO Box,not falsifying anything,go be retired somewhere
'Overweight' selection means over 150# here.
Right or wrong we deliver anything that says P.O. Box 'xyz' to the post office no matter what.

Anything else that has a physical address gets A/C'd by our clerk.

We have one that says “over 150” and one that just says overweight

So what the hell is the difference??? If you are at the Post Office already why not just get rid of all of them while you are there??

....or you could just deliver them as addressed....

It’s this simple Even you should understand it.

over 3 cubic feet or over 10 lbs cost the company money.

The USPS rates for those parcels are rate corrected with cost skyrocketing like OS2 and OS3 in our system. So UPS most likely loses money on them.

Around here USPS attaches bright day glow orange labels to damaged SurePost parcels. The sticker reads “This parcel was tendered by UPS in the damaged condition. Please contact the original sender about USPS pickup options for damage free transportation. Thank you.”

We need our own stickers.
They could read as follows:
Ups crushed it but the post office will lose it anyway.

My two cents, I believe FEDEX delivers the Smartpost to the BMC’s only. UPS delivers Surepost to the local post offices.
My local center holds many Surepost packages for delivery by our drivers on the scheduled Post Office delivery date or sooner.
I have seen the Post Office holding cages and bins of Surepost and Smartpost packages because Amazon slammed them big time.
