Those folk should have went to flight school or joined the military. They got what they deserve.

Not terribly surprising. The cost of going to school for aviation rivals the cost of going to medical school.

I'll bet most are former military which means Uncle Sam paid for their training.

The draw from the military ranks is decreasing at a pretty fast pace. Post cold war the Air Force and Navy have smaller fleets and more career guys. FedEx pilots are known to be almost be a military fraternity, but that is really going to change over the next decade or so industry wide.

Doubt it with the 10% they're getting right off the bat.

I'm pretty sure he was being facetious.

They're pension is around 117,000 per year based on 25 years of service. This amount decreases the fewer years accrued.

Expect a cut in benefits for the hourlies to offset this new cost.

I see Upstate disagrees with this. Leave it to someone who's never worked a solitary moment for FedEx.

Your benefits will remain unchanged. Express will recoup the cost when they raise their rates in January.

That isn't what I said, is it? Fred's employee churn is costing him big bucks. A fat pilot contract makes him look like an even bigger liar when it comes to raises for hourlies. Sack of chit.

What really matter is Mr. Fred actually had to sit down and negoiate with a group of employees. I bet having to do that caused him the highest level of gloom dispair and agony.

Do you really think he was anywhere near the negotiations?
