Fired UPS Dock Supervisor Becomes Emotional During Testimony - My News LA

A white former United Parcel Service employee struggled to maintain his composure while recalling for a jury Friday his 2017 firing, ostensibly for having used profanity for the second time in 11 months.

“I was numb, completely numb and I couldn’t believe it,” 47-year-old Mason McConn said. “I was in shock.”

The Long Beach resident said he was escorted by managers out of the Ontario facility where he worked.

Drivers AND management couldn't go 11 minutes without cussing 2 times when and where I worked. Here's an idea. Put a cuss jar in the manger's office and turn in counter. Charge .25 for every bad word. As much money as it would make, they wouldn't have to browbeat drivers to donate to United Way.

So when I worked at UPS, my ORS took me aside and instructed me to watch my mouth. We had a clerk that I was close to who worked there and I’m we would make inappropriate and suggestive comments back and forth. He said basically if she came in some day and complained about it, I’d be gone in a heartbeat. I was young and stupid. By the time folks get to management, especially these days, I’d think that kind of thing would be reigned in.

The anti harassment policy is mostly applied to hourly as far as I can see.

Kinda :censored2: for brains to keep using profanity of any kind around a known discipline problem; gotta flip that lawyer-switch and watch your word-jitsu

hope he wins his suit though
