oh its true. I knew a lot of good people that got purged as i was retiring.
There was 8 HR managers in a 5 state area before the purge one position left afterwards.
a lot more HR supervisors that were also given their severance pay and eliminated.
I can't even imagine the hiring headaches now.

Speaking from the position of a lifetime of workplace experiences as a blue-collar stooge, I am having a very difficult time reconciling how the words "HR managers", "HR supervisors", and the words "good people" used to describe them can coexist accurately in the same paragraph.

Or maybe you simply made a mistake. Or maybe HR means something other than Human Resources?

Kafkaesque experiences with those types of critters have left me with the impression that someone spiked my drink with a hallucinogen.

In the grand scheme of things; hornets, hyenas, crocodiles, and buzzards have "good qualities" too.

If that's how low the bar is set, I can't argue.

Inside a hornet's nest, it's often full of hornets.

Inside a HR department, it's often full of A-holes.

yea I'm sorry I liked about 98 percent of my UPS family. That seems to bother you.

One nice thing about working for UPS, recessions only effect the other guys.
There might be a cut in hours but I'm still working steady.

It does bother me. Very much.

Like a succubus in my dreams. Smitten and mesmerized that such an occupation and workplace exists.

Did you have co-workers who you could trust to always have yer back, and felt like 'family' to you?

It was a job to me not a family. I had a lot of people i met and liked over all but not looking to develop a trusting family relationship with anyone.

You mentioned you liked around 98% of yer coworkers over the years. I find that astonishing.

That is probably because you are a decent, honorable, respectable fellow; and yer coworkers reciprocated that. Also, yer coworkers intelligence, demeanor, and demographics must have had an influence on that outcome. IOW, you were compatible with yer coworkers.

As for myself, and all the occupations and jobs I've had during my adult life, around 10% of my coworkers I liked very much. Around 30%, I would have liked to have seen mauled by a pack of wild dogs.
