I imagine by now you guys have all seen this but FDX has forfeited it's naming rights to Fedex Field 2 years ahead of the contract expiration saving the company 15 million bucks.
Granted, there has been talk of a completely new facility for the Washington franchise but the current field is undergoing a 75 million dollar remodeling and upgrade.
You have to draw your own conclusions but this is a pretty unusual action on the part of the company especially in a high profile location such as Washington D.C At the same time if Fats isn't handing out as many free game tickets, free food and booze in the FDX corporate suite to congressman and senators things might be getting pretty tight for the old boy. He sold his stake in the Commanders but there is talk of the NFL expanding the number of franchises and he might have something up his sleeve with becoming the sole owner of one of those expansion teams.
