With FHP, call outs, 8hr day, 22.4, Sat delv........ doubt it.

How is that fair?

Suppose one of the weeks in question was when the kids were on break from school. The more senior driver whose kids are grown and out of the house bids that week knowing full well that he is going to work it. The less senior driver who would have loved to have bid that week is essentially screwed and to pour salt on the wound has to watch the more senior driver come in to work each day of that week.

This place would work a whole lot better if promotions were based on ability and pay raises were based on performance. Seniority is like tenure.
Hell yeah! The runners and gunners and ass kissers would drop like flies. More injuries, accidents, misdeliveries, and ACTUALLY being held accountable for all those things would clear out the overachievers rather quickly. LOL.
Prevents multiple seniority peeps from jumping from hub to hub preventing lowers from moving up. An example would be never getting a good summer vacation week during vacation selection time.

I don’t think it would be that bad. But seniority is seniority. I’d be happy if we could at least honor company seniority only per building.

The truth never changes.
Then put it in your supplement that you can not work vacations.
Already there....except for the option week and 2 more here. Then you're done.
Anyone who works their vacations after that gets filed on and the top seniority person in that classification gets paid for their time.

We put a stop to that years ago. Heck some higher seniority drivers would pick a week that their lower seniority driver buddies wanted and then try to switch with them, effectively screwing the middle seniority drivers who got locked out of that week due to it being maxed out ahead of their seniority.

We stopped that garbage as well.

Tell him to keep his inside ft gig. He's lucky to have it. Switching to driving after 23 years could be a very rough transition.
