My personal favorite is the Polish corporation...
Political Science for Dummies

DEMOCRAT
You have two cows.
Your neighbor has none.
You feel guilty for being successful.
You push for higher taxes so the government can provide cows for
everyone.

REPUBLICAN
You have two cows.
Your neighbor has none.
So?

SOCIALIST
You have two cows.
The government takes one and gives it to your neighbor.
You form a cooperative to tell him how to manage his cow.

COMMUNIST
You have two cows.
The government seizes both and provides you with milk.
You wait in line for hours to get it.
It is expensive and sour.

CAPITALISM, AMERICAN STYLE
You have two cows.
You sell one, buy a bull, and build a herd of cows.

BUREAUCRACY, AMERICAN STYLE
You have two cows.
Under the new farm program the government pays you to shoot one, milk
the other, and then pour the milk down the drain.

AMERICAN CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You sell one, lease it back to yourself and do an IPO on the 2nd one.
You force the two cows to produce the milk of four cows.
You are surprised when one cow drops dead.
You spin an announcement to the analysts stating you have downsized and
are reducing expenses.
Your stock goes up.

FRENCH CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You go on strike because you want three cows.
You go to lunch and drink wine.
Life is good.

JAPANESE CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You redesign them so they are one-tenth the size of an ordinary cow and
produce twenty times the milk.
They learn to travel on unbelievably crowded trains.
Most are at the top of their class at cow school.

GERMAN CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You engineer them so they are all blond, drink lots of beer, give
excellent quality milk, and run a hundred miles an hour.
Unfortunately they also demand 13 weeks of vacation per year.

ITALIAN CORPORATION
You have two cows but you don't know where they are.
You break for lunch.
Life is good.

RUSSIAN CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You drink some vodka.
You count them and learn you have five cows.
You drink some more vodka.
You count them again and learn you have 42 cows.
The Mafia shows up and takes over however many cows you really have.

TALIBAN CORPORATION
You have all the cows in Afghanistan, ...which are two.
You don't milk them because you cannot touch any creature's private
parts.
You get a $40 million grant from the U.S. government to find
alternatives to milk production but use the money to buy weapons.

IRAQI CORPORATION
You have two cows.
They go into hiding.
They send radio tapes of their mooing.

POLISH CORPORATION
You have two bulls.
Employees are regularly maimed and killed attempting to milk them.

BELGIAN CORPORATION
You have one cow.
The cow is schizophrenic.
Sometimes the cow thinks he's French, other times he's Flemish.
The Flemish cow won't share with the French cow.
The French cow wants control of the Flemish cow's milk.
The cow asks permission to be cut in half.
The cow dies happy.

FLORIDA CORPORATION
You have a black cow and a brown cow.
Everyone votes for the best looking one.
Some of the people who actually like the brown one best accidentally
vote for the black one.
Some people vote for both.
Some people vote for neither.
Some people can't figure out how to vote at all.
Finally, a bunch of guys from out-of-state tell you which one you think
is the best looking cow.

CALIFORNIA CORPORATION
You have millions of cows.
They make real California cheese.
Only five cows speak English.
Most are illegals.
Arnold likes the ones with the big udders.

I agree there are some clear positives here. the 130,000 difference measured can be explained by those who died and vacated jobs to the unemployed.:)

There might be a new liberal job strategy here. Cut health care for the rich to improve employment for the poor.:)

Seriously though how does 130,00 less discharges equate to a three tenths reduction in unemployment. three tenths employment improvement on a working population of approximately 150 million should be approximately 450,00 jobs.

By Intuit's count, a recovery in Main Street's job market has been under way for a few months already. Small business employment grew 0.8% in the past eight months, translating into a net 150,000 new jobs since June 2009, when the market hit its nadir, according to Intuit.
"Small businesses generally recover faster than larger businesses," said Susan Woodward, the economist who worked with Intuit (INTU) to create the index "To see these figures showing a rise in employment at small businesses is very heartening at a time when good news is scarce."
President Obama and some in Congress would like to add more fuel to the labor market's recovery spark. Last week, the Senate passed a $15 billion jobs bill that includes several hiring incentives, including a Social Security tax break for companies that hire the unemployed. The measure is now being considered by the House of Representatives

and then prince charming swept snow white up on his horse they rode off into the sunset and lived happily ever after.

I'm hoping the fairy tale ends as you want it to be but I don't like the fact that the numbers are not adding up logically.

We have yet to have a positive employment month. The market however is excited because we only lost 35000 jobs in february.

Yet unemployment has improved from 10.1 to 9.7 in the past three months. This tells us people are dropping out rather then finding jobs.

economy had good growth results last month , hopefully a good sign of positives however the question is whats fueling it?

Is it stimulus money or is it real growth?

quote from your link:

"
Yes, I know all about the stock market rally from last March. I know all about the claimed GDP "improvement." But I also know that we got both by adding more than $2 trillion in debt to the United States - or roughly 14% of GDP - over the space of the last 18 months. That's about 10% of GDP annualized, and incidentally, a 10% GDP contraction is the common economist's definition of an Economic Depression."

Unionman,
Even you should be able to figure this out.
If you are a small business owner --your business is in trouble because people do not have the money to buy your goods or services. You can give the Employer all the tax breaks in the world to hire the unenployed --but if now one is buying ---??????
This is simply like giving you a free car --with no motor !!!
To get the economy going give the tax breaks to the people --who buy the goods and services --than the small and large business can hire people to make, create and deliver !!
It really is very simple --instead of the wasted "stimulous " last year --if every taxpaying American was allowed a twelve month tax holiday --with the requirement that the tax you would have paid must be spent on goods and services during the twelve month period --this crisis would already have been well behind us.
The politicians on both sides wastes our money --do you think Obama knows how to spend your paycheck better than you ????:happy-very:

The very few positive signs in employment have been teachers, cops, firemen etc ---when the stimulous money runs out ---watch out --the states will not be able to keep these people working ---America is running out of time and money !!

Just a question ? What percentage of that tax break money would be used for buying "Made in USA" products ?
Or will people mostly use it for chinese goods at Ikea , Walmart, Kmart, etc.
Perhaps electronics, such as laptops, cell phones, TV's made in Asia ?

Just think if this economy turns around with reed , pelosi and Obama then Palin should be a shoe in for president.
I'm working on some possible campaign slogans:

How about "any idiot can"?

or

dumb it down and turn it around.

Klein,
Your question is not revelant. Stores will sell , salespeople will work, stock people will work, truckers will deliver, Ups drivers will work, part-timers will sort etc,ctc,,--American made goods would:sad-little: help --but at least the tax break I spoke of would STIMULATE many private sector jobs --unlike the stimulous which has created or saved public sector jobs which will soon run out of the source for their paychecks !!!

Didn't you guys get stimulus checks ? Consider that a tax break/relief.

Something a little more permanent than a one time "stimulus" check or tax deduction would be a full fledge cutting of the income tax rates at every income level. That is the best way to stimulate an economy.

Do that, and you'll be the next Iceland. If it was soo easy, then start on cutting all state sales taxes. Wonder how long California would exist as we know it ?

Klein,
You mentioned California. Wheter you know this or not --the most Liberal state for many many generations. The liberal social policies, open borders, and public sector unions out of control --California is a perfect example of what works and what does not.
Very simply Socialism does not work !!:happy-very:
