Congrats Dave. Now you can get the child all worked up and excited and had him or her back to the parents as you laugh and walk away. Spoil him or her rotten...Gramps!!!

I still don't get these "gender reveal" parties.

Honestly, Dave, I don't either. We didn't know or even want to know the gender of my two boys before they were born. Thankfully, my son and daughter-in-law felt the same.

Kinda takes away all the anticipation.

I can understand how knowing does make it easier in getting the nursery ready but there is still something to be said for finding out the old fashioned way.


When you get right down to it, the baby doesn't give a flying leap what color the nursery or its 'onesies' are.

My daughter wanted a boy as she thought it would be easier for her husband to learn to become a father with a boy rather than a girl.

Megan was our first born and my ex worked the swing shift for the first few years so I was in charge of feeding, bathing and getting her ready for bed. I will never forget the nights spent rocking her to sleep.
