Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) expressed optimism Monday about his party’s chances of holding its Senate majority.

Reid predicted Democrats would lose a seat in South Dakota, but was optimistic about Montana despite Sen. John Walsh’s (D-Mt.) recent decision to drop out of the race after a plagiarism scandal.

“We are doing really well in Montana,” Reid told reporters on Monday.

The state party nominated high school math teacher and state Rep. Amanda Curtis to run as the Democratic candidate last week. Rep. Steve Daines (R-Mt.) is the heavy favorite in the red-leaning state.

If Republicans gain six seats, they’ll topple Reid as majority leader. The GOP is a big favorite to win in South Dakota, Montana and West Virginia, and has its eyes on five other seats now held by Democrats.

Harry Reid Jokes About Asians

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made a couple of Asian jokes Thursday at an event for the Las Vegas Asian Chamber of Commerce.

The comments would not be the first time Reid has made strange, if not offensive, racial remarks. During the 2008 presidential run, Reid said that then-Sen. Barack Obama would do well with white voters because he was “light-skinned” and spoke “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”

The billionaire industrialist Koch brothers, known best for shepherding big money to conservative causes and candidates, have given a $25 million grant to the United Negro College Fund, the organization announced Friday.

The money will come from Koch Industries Inc. and the Charles Koch Foundation, which are headed by the brothers. Most of the money ($18.5 million) will go toward a scholarship program. The other $6.5 million is provided for general support to historically black colleges and universities and the UNCF, with $4 million set aside for loan assistance.

The UNCF is the nation’s largest minority education group.

Like these two morons dont think they can buy black votes before the midterms with a large donation to show they are the "good guys"...??
