the iphone started it's development in 2004, according to wikipedia, and was released for sale in 2007.

Eight generations have since been released and we are still stuck on Orion 1???
Well the iPhone really hasn't changed that much. People are just consumed with having the newest technology

Alright but many companies work on products for 8 years and continually improve it. Apple didn't release the iPhone and say "Okay we're done." I'd be willing to bet the Orion we see today is very little of what the Orion of 2008 was.
Even if ORION is perfected it will still be exactly the epic waste of money it is now. Why? Because at best all it can do is tell a driver to do what must drivers are going to do anyway. And that is taking the shortest path they can. UPS could have saved millions (not including the extra OT) by passing on ORION and instead telling us that we are now allowed to back in driveways more when need be if it will save miles. That is why the theory that ORION will be the Holy Grail once it goes through a few upgrades is comical.

We may not have any tunnels here in Iowa, but we do have a few low bridges around my parts.
