How do you enroll in long term disability insurence?

Good question hope it gets an answer, it’s not one I’m really familiar with. Short term disability and FMLA I know very well.

Not sure if you can just enroll in ltd but once your std runs out then you have to switch over to ltd.

@Bluefootedoobie : according to my statement from last year, it was through the "alight.com" website; or call 'Benefits Service Center' during the enrollment period (last year was November 8-19).

First you have to exhaust all the FMLA and short term disability than if you need more time after that it goes into Long term only if you get approved which is much harder than short term
I believe if you exhaust all the FMLA and Short term it’s around almost 1 year of time off before you have to open a separate claim for long term

I was lazy and called my union pension and insurance person at the hall.
You are not leaving before this contract expires or I will kick your ass
