....to know what the economic future of the world looks like go to YouTube and search for Peter Zeihan. Ran across one of his videos a couple of weeks ago and have seen a bunch since. A number of channels feature him. He explains why the U.S. is in a pretty good place, why the world population will shrink dramatically, why supply chains as we know them are being altered, etc. Might sound boring, but it's very interesting the this guy explains things.

Without me looking at the video yet, could you please elaborate on this statement…
Good morning Serf. He looks at the Demographics around the world. While much of the world had a Boomer generation their following generation wasn't as big as our millennial generation. A number of countries are aging out. China in particular after 4 decades of a one child policy. On top of that policy the Chinese extremely value a male heir. When ultrasound became available they were using it to see if the baby would be male. So many girls were aborted that China now has tens of millions of young men with no hope of marrying. China's population is expected to halve by 2050. Zeihan has constant new updates on current events and economics. He's a consultant with a pretty big following. He's not particularly political and judging by the man bun he's a bit more liberal than I like. But he gives very astute appraisals of what's going on. He pointed out that Russia was supplying oil to the Chinese from its eastern Siberia fields. Halliburton, Shell, and others were maintaining those fields and they all left after Russia invaded Ukraine. The Russians don't have the expertise to run them and they'll soon be ruined by the permafrost. Could literally take decades to get them up and running again. Very bad for China. It's a constant flow of information like this from him that gives one a much better, detailed understanding of the world.

Fascinating stuff really. I suppose it’s always been this way that the most astute minds never go to Washington. They are better than that.
