Iran

back then Wapo columnist Jack Anderson got wind of the possible conflict with Russia over Iran but spun it as an election saving oil field grab by then president Jimmy Carter. Anyone who understands Jimmy carter back then would probably agree that it would have been out of character for Jimmy to initiate the action in Iran. Our briefings that we recieved at the time told us the soviets were the potential aggressor.

US denies it plans to invade Iran

Medic or Infantry it doesn't matter. He still served.
I agree he still served, and that is worthy of respect.

But c'mon.

Like he said, the guy's not a decorated combat medic who saved lives and screamed "not on my watch, you sonofabitch"! While he starts chest compressions, after plugging a gunshot wound with his finger til somebody dug out the guaze. Whew! Whew! Two breaths.

Peace time medics need to recognize their place on the worthy of mentioning your service scale...they're near the bottom of the list, in the not ever unless you're practically forced to section, just above military lawyers, and right below MPs.

Harsh truths.

Seems to be an easy target. But so was Afghanistan.

the narrative from the left is that we would fight a war. a war would include a land invasion. the US has no interest in a war and Iran does not have the assets to fight a naval war or air battle against us . Iran is occasionally a nuisance that we slap around a little sink a few boats and put them back on their heels. All of this is of course oversold for political reasons right now

Harsh truths, they served daily not knowing when their time may come. Still had more balls then me and most people on this board. You don't go into the military crossing your fingers. You have a WILL to serve the Country, knowing full damn well you can go at any minute.

I keep up just fine. Did you serve? Neither did I but I have respect for those who did. You have watched too many movies and live in a fantasy land.
What the hell are you rambling about?

The guy was an army medic in peace time telling you about his Navy commander's plans to invade Iran. You're living in a fantasy land with him if you buy into his B.S.

I've seen Under Siege. Even the cooks are badass:happy2:. Seriously though bro, he felt the need to serve. You don't think he had any insight? He had more than you or I. Medic. Cook. Infantry. It don't matter man. He CHOSE to serve OUR Country. And he did! Not his fault he didn't see any "action". Maybe he did? I don't know but I don't care.
