I’m a local 786 driver! We/I am not an hourly driver! My the load and it’s not bad, could be better, but it’s pretty good!

Feeder driver at UPS is the same work as other companies, only better pay. Package car driver is an entirely different animal.

Are you talking about package car driver? If so, 10 years ago, yes. Today not hard at all.

I’m in Chicago, I AM a union driver! I’ll work 8 months to make 70k and take the winter off with unemployment and benefits, maybe I should keep my job?

I understand 70k may not be much to live on in Chicago, but unless you could get an off the street feeder job, you really wouldn't be doing any better. If you could get an off the street package driver job, you'd be working 4 years before you see in a year what you make in 8 months now. Any driver who makes much more than 70k a year is working a lot of OT. If you start as a part timer, you would need to have another job on the side, and the wait to become a package driver can be years.
