They played political football with it apparently. But it's in place now. In no way are they treating you like a criminal until proven otherwise.
Yes, in every way they are. If you don’t have the gold star, you don’t fly because you might be a terrorist.

And waiting 20 years proves it was all just politics, and wasn’t necessary but apparently you’re OK with that.

And the Republicans aren't trying to do that today. Eisenhower was addressing the political realities of the time. Social Security has often been called the 3rd rail of politics. Don't mess with it if you don't want to be zapped.

I'm 100% ok with it. Just another layer of protection. Do you fly? I do on occasion and want to know they're doing everything possible. If you've flown recently you know the massive crowds that are being moved through the scanners. My recent trips out of Orlando and Atlanta had me waiting in line 45-50 minutes before getting through. That was after waiting 20+ minutes to check baggage. They're trying to expedite things by having your identity already verified.

At least a dozen times a year. Probably more this year.. and I can assure you you’re no more safe or less safe today than you Pre, May 7th

Calling the airport routine streamline is the most hilarious thing I’ve ever heard there’s absolutely nothing streamline about it.

They’ve managed to make flying the most unenjoyable thing ever.

And before May 7th each passenger had to be verified individually by airline personnel before going through the scans.
It’s the exact same process now I’m not certain what you’re talking about. Unless you have TSA pre-check you’re still going to the same line you’re still giving them your ID nothing has changed.

And if you’re silly enough to believe a terrorist wouldn’t pay the $80 for pre-check and I don’t know what to tell you

But if you FEEL safer, I guess it was worth it!🤷‍♂️

The terrorist won't have a verified identity in the system signified by that star. Unless of course you watch a lot of action movies and think they move with impunity.

Oh, OK. lol.

Sheesh if they were that easy to spot. Why would we need all this personal information about people? We should just be able to see Mohammed in line!

If it's the exact same process now then what's your beef? Just anti Federal government? Don't tread on me? It's all a plot for One World Government?

My beef is with the government, forcing us to jump through hoops to be able to do things. I’m not certain what so difficult or understand.. It didn’t change anything nor helping, but it did make citizens have to prove who they were for no reason. If they already had a license, they’ve done enough.

The fact that it didn’t help us being safer and you know that is all I’m saying. And you know it didn’t you’re just pairing government line. You’re no safer today than you were yesterday, so there was no reason to do it.

The verified identity extends far beyond air travel. Voting, employment, etc. Absolutely necessary in my book to keep illegals from doing the above. After all, you can trust your car to the man who wears the star, the big bright Texaco star!

Well, I totally disagree with you, but I respect your opinion. I just think it’s an unnecessary complication in order to travel freely. And I don’t think illegals have any problem traveling by the way lol I think regular citizens have more trouble at this point.

They don't if the government is going to arrange flights for them. We have an administration now who views things differently.

I agree, this administration, does things differently, but unfortunately, we are at the whims of whoever is in charge at the time. I don’t really think that’s how it’s supposed to work.
