I was wondering I was sent over to another belt at the end of the sort to help clean up and finished up loading a trailer then I noticed that It was 530 in the morning and I had to leave to go to my other job at 7 so I left but I was the only one on that belt will ups try to fire me for like job abandonment even though all they had was like lib’s (left in building) and a few box’s that went in the last trailer to go on the belt Even though I am religiously on time and work hard and honest? Need honest answers please. Thanks.

You will be terminated and then they will put a no re-hire in your file. They might even charge you for the loss of revenue by having other employees cover the work that you failed to do. Better call Saul and get a great lawyer.

Are you serious just wondering?

You asked for honest answers.

You cost the company money.
You risked the lives of the professionals around you with your reckless behavior.
You left without approval.
There will be repercussions. Your colleagues might try to retaliate. Get an attorney and get escorts from security if you feel like your colleagues are trying to harm you.

Technically yes. Ive been fired for it before but got my job back two weeks later for dishonesty on their part. Sup said i could leave then the next day denied it but i had a witness. I work a second job too and they always give me :censored2: for it. We all know part time doesnt pay. But like a previous reply, communication can solve alot of issues right away. Come in early or talk to management on your break. Most will listen or work around your schedule if you just talk to them. What shift do you work? 7 is kind of pushing it for a preload shift. But dont just get up and leave without letting them know. I wouldnt worry too much about it if you dont have attendance issues. Dont steal, fight, show some effort and youll have a job. Just make sure you communicate next time.

What shift ends at 5:30AM? That is an hour into preload and 2 hours after night sort. Jesus just change shifts if there is such a conflict, it will only get worse as peak approaches.

You can try and get an understanding of your other job, however, after you get that sup trained - you will acquire sup who will be not understanding the concept that some people work 2 and 3 jobs. Your best bet if you possibly can is get a job that doesn't effect the Mon-Fri gig at UPS. Get a weekend only job - that way there is no bull :censored2:. Yes it's a hassle working 7 days a week - but there is a better light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck. ALSO remember that the sups are trained to make your life and everyone else's pure hell. They get bonus for it.

Talk to a shop steward. If someone else's seniority is being violated and you are being forced OT that someone with more seniority should have, that may work. Also, if others with less seniority are being offered to go home, if your contract allows.

A part-time job is exactly that and I don't personally think any part-time employee at UPS, should ever be forced over 5 hours, unless they are FORCED in seniority order.

pretty obvious they are on a night sort and not preload. We have PD's that do not wrap until 5-7am some days, well into the preload. Great if you want overtime (full or part-time) but not so if you want to leave with the rest of the midnight.
