The increased the Pension but increased the medical cost netting.... No extra money for our retirees. So at the end of the day it was nothing
Listen the fund was going broke. WOuld have been broke by june of 2010 if nothing was done. SO everyone had to take a hit: current members and retirees. Howie couldnt get us a pension increase without ron there. Tim did it in 1 contract. By the way our board has submitted a proposal to lower the monthly payments by the retirees back to the lower rates.

So instead you raised it for votes? Great job creating a central states problem for the people that will take your job.

Should have been at Members United meeting this weekend.
Lots of love and appreciation for our Board.
As for your "serious question", Tim and our E/B run our local. So well we now have a $400 increase in our pensions, a large surplus in our H/W funds, 150 new FT jobs, a more efficient grievance procedure and greater representation.

Where was it held? I did hear about a BBQ this weekend.
