Hey Integrity-
what do you do if the guy using the urinal next to you farts?
jim_flint,The locker room is an area that is designated for employee use only. Therefore, there is approximately zero chance that a customer would see anything in it and have it affect their opinion of UPS or its employees.
If an employee going to take a piss feels insulted, reviled, or threatened by something they see in another's locker, they should approach their supervisor or manager about that specific instance.
Obscenity is a qualitative property, so there's no way to write an effective policy that bans "obscene images." The only way you're going to get a building (company?) wide policy implemented is to ban all personal images from being posted in lockers, and we all know that'll never fly, cause the managers love for everyone to brag about how they bust their ass for UPS so their kids and families can have a wonderful life.
I'm not even going to get involved on this one.
However, if management is aware of this, they should ensure it is removed immediately!
This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
soberups,
I value your opinion and input.
The company must error on the side of caution on matters such as these.
I know your background so let me pose an unlikely but possible scenario;
Let's suppose a person in recovery from a sexual addition just happens into one of these locker rooms and right in front of him he sees some graphic pornography staring at him in plain view from a locker that is open while a driver is changing.
Let's further suppose that this one look (using the first drink theory) sets him into relapse that in the future leads him down a road that he never would have gone had he not relapsed.
The company has to error on the side of caution.
Sincerely,
I
cachsux,I think someone got caught eyeballing a changing driver and locker porn getting his attention was his excuse to get out of a beating.
trickpony1,Hey Integrity-

What's more offensive, a naked pic in a locker or an uncapped water bottle of urine in a truck? Can I sue for that?? lolI'm not even going to get involved on this one.

Because, much like on this forum, you use anonymity to an extreme in order to hide your cowardice. Once again, much like in your other posts, you fail to actually address anything in real life with those you have issue with. Instead you come on here posting how you see/know about transgressions you do absolutely nothing about. There's my two cents.Jackburton,
I am surprised you still even read any of my posts.
What I see in plain view as I walk into a bathroom at my place of employment is my business.
This is the topic and the thread that I have chosen for discussion so that too makes it my business.
You may want to just put your 2 cents into the discussion or better yet just ignore my posts if you are constantly annoyed by them.
I know I didn't mention it, but how do you really know that they didn't ask me what I thought of the decorating they did to their lockers?
You were not there to make that claim.
Sincerely,
I
so what if you walked in and the guy changing wascrack naked? offended? it's a LOCKERROOM
I couldn't help myselfjim_flint,
I disagree that the banning of obscene pictures would lead to the banning of all images such as appropriate photos. I think you are reaching around.
Sincerely,
I
Integrity,
why are you so concerned? If seeing a pair of boobs is gonna set an ex"porn addict" to relapse, then he better not be driving... Seems like, actually i know for a fact, that whenever i deliver, i see hot babes and cosignee can sometimes( any gender and attractiveness) open the door partially clothed, or buck naked(yes ive seen both).
hopefully he stays indoors locked up in his home and never watches t.v. Either! You wanna take some being made fun of and complain to supes or center manager, then have fun with that... I can see your point , its just not a very good one. ;-)
bleedinbrown58,
It is wrong to expose another to something that could be offensive or inappropriate in the workplace. What others do at home is their own business. Let their conscience be their guide there, if they have one.
A restroom open to employees is not private and it is wrong to expose anyone to inappropriate pictures.
It doesn't bother me that much, but it is wrong and in light of the situation this practice should be banned.
Sincerely,
I[/QUOTE
So since the majority of Browncafe uses find your rants offensive, I only would have to guess that would make you the most hypocritical of all.
