Lunch options (On topic please)

My husband is a fulltime package car driver and a feeder cover driver.

He does not want to become an over weight driver. I make his lunches for him to take to work. But I'm looking for other options some of you might have.

What type of things do you take in your lunch to eat and drink?

I make him different types of wraps. He gets fresh fruit and protein bar. Drinks he takes powerade, water and tea.

Check out the ketogenic way of eating. We have several drivers in our center who have dropped a lot of weight and kept it off permanently. It's about eating real food like meats, veggies, nuts, seeds, etc and staying away from starches, sugars, grains, etc. It's not a diet. It's a forever thing.

I'll share a beginner guide to keto:

Stopped reading at "Try to avoid BEER"...
hahaha. If you don't want what other people have, you can't do what other people do :) I've been keto over a year and a half and went from just shy of 300 lbs to the 180s. I feel like a teenager in my 40s. Giving up beer is worth it and if I want to drink once in a while I just have vodka, bacardi 151, etc.

I have always packed my lunch, I never eat on the road unless I have somebody riding with me. No restaurants on my area at all. Usually, I have a ham sandwich on whole wheat flatbread. I snack on things like carrot slices and nuts throughout the day. I quit drinking soft drinks years ago, no ingredients in them are healthy for you. Lemon water with honey and an occasional Gatorade to break up the monotony of drinking water for me. I stay away from Powerade, its cheaper because of high fructose corn syrup that is used as a sweetener.
I had no idea Powerade had HFCS. Dammit and I just bought one for work too.

On topic didn't work out like you thought

I eat biggest meal before work and snack the rest of the day
What do you eat in the morning before work, that makes it your biggest meal? I’d love to eat breakfast before work but I can’t stomach eating anything so early.

Look into intermittent fasting. I've had success on ketogenic, but it leaves me feeling drained, and all the meal prep and increased grocery costs, just too much of a pain. I can go long periods without eating just fine, it takes no effort and ends up costing less. Might not be for everyone, but fasting has it's health benefits.

I ate fast food every day for 30 years and drank beer most every day. Didn't bother me a bit. I worked it off.
