Media Bias

Employees want to own a company, they can start a company. Just because you get hired to work somewhere doesn't automatically give you the right to claim ownership over a company. I don't necessarily think it's a bad idea to partially compensate employees with shares of a company. But even then, you would have to work someplace for a while and be good at what you do for your vote to carry much weight. People who aren't even very good at sweeping floors probably shouldn't have much of a say in how a company is run.
democracy is about participation in power. our current system has centralized power in govt and corporations.

they talk about objectivity in journalism starting at 22:00. basically theres a narrow range of acceptable views and the journalist cant deviate from them. theres unwritten rules that must be followed. and i think chris hedges says all the guys with power at the paper are closely linked to the guys who own it. chris hedges quit NY times after speaking out against the iraq war. meanwhile another guy at the NY times kept his job for being in favor of iraq war. they also talk about worthy vs unworthy victims. this is all chomsky btw.

Chris hedges works for the Russians, who would love to see America fall as a result of the blowing up of its current system of trade and government, comrade.

Chris Hedges - Wikipedia

"Hedges
is a columnist for the progressive news and commentary website Truthdig. He hosts the program On Contact for the RT (formerly Russia Today) television network."

do corporations or the rich have america's best interests at heart?

who are they working for?

Whatever the case may be, I’ll take American corporations’ interests over those of Chris Hedges and his Russian masters, who would love to see America fall.
get out of here with that red scare nonsense. yes the russians want to interfere with america. thats not why trump got elected. and theres not really one interest in america. the rich and govt have very different interests than average joes. whats good for the few is poison for the many. what the rich are too cowardly to act on is the fact when you poison everyone for money you eventually poison yourself.

america is in the process of falling....mass shootings, debt, suicide, unemployment and under employment, environmental degradation, record corruption, spiritual malnutrition, etc. youre already a failed democracy, and soon youll be a failed state when you cant print anymore dollars.

spoiler alert:

in joker movie the media is partly guilty for arthur turning into a joker killer.

in real life, the media is a propaganda system to ridicule poor people like on judge judy, talent shows, etc.

the media is also a system of violence by what it chooses to not show like the suffering in many developed countries which is completely ignored in favor of anti russian hysteria, he said she said political gossip, and spectacles of rush hour, fires, shootings, etc. silence is violence.

hedges talks about journalism for this whole interview. taibbi also did some interviews on journalism and a book on it recently.

chris says in the interview that journalism is about interviewing average joes, and not going to the powerful and repeating their lies.

thats an oversimplification. chris hedges says at the new york times (and probably most MSM outlets) they hire 1150 careerists of 1200 who wont break the unwritten rules of journalism.
