it was dead the moment he called the Jan 6th protests an "insurrection"

i think he really thought that right wing populism was just a Trump-fever or something and that once Trump was gone, we'd all go back to voting for elites like Liz Cheney or Mitt Romney; that Trump was the sickness instead of just a symptom of a broken system
