I will begin by telling you not all my faculties are with me at the moment. That being said, you are facing a problem. You have trolls running amok. This needs to stop now if you want to keep your mod positions unpaid and keep this forum healthy.
This is getting ridiculous:
We'll start with this, an unregistered dug up a thread that is over two years old and posts this (completely out of context and not accurate):

I noticed that a moderator (thinking clearly) deleted one of his posts in a thread.

This is asinine. Not because their opinion is rebellious, but because they are only here to hurt the forum. A lot of members here think this is only "stirring up trouble" and will go away. I want to tell you it will not. This is not something any forum can allow to happen if it wants to stay legitimate.
I won't bother quoting this next trolls posts (who joined today). Just take a look at the profile.
There is a problem here. It is normal for this to happen when a forum starts to gain recognition. However, it needs to be dealt with.

If you live anywhere close to a satellite route bid it!!! This job is night and day from what I was accustomed to working out of our large center. No more "oh such and such has to get done early tonight to see his doctor about his roids, can you cover his pickups??" Yes you can bid back into the building anytime you want.

AmYisroelChai posted UPS Compliance Message.
Be careful and never trust an HR person. Remember, they are in management and their responsibility is to represent the best interest of the company. They are not your friend and they are not there to help you.
A Software Engineer is in Management and by definition must support the decisions of the Board or Management Committee; at least publicly. Unfortunate but in any company if a member of Management publicly demonstrates against a Management decision, they would be gone. Respect his spunk and I hope he gets another job quickly.
I've been in management for many years and I use to bleed brown...now I just bleed. All I hear about is how we can't replace people, do more with less, get poor raises even though high marks. It seems that a good way to save UPS money is to donate less to United Way. I have been a Leadership Giver for over 15 years but this year, I am giving only a token amount. I'll donate the same amout but not through UPS...seems a shame to miss the match but the message has to get up to the Board and Management committee that their actions have consequences.
Any thoughts?
I'm a rat on the treadmill just like you! Got quite a few more than the 10 years the developer did. And if I don't work until 55, I lose 60% plus of my pension. With that said, I think you can answer your own question![]()

What I find interesting about this story is the contrast it presents to the current Chicago labor situation.
These employees were picketing UPS to bring awareness that they realize that they value their jobs with DHL and they don't want lose them.
The Chicago teamsters are threatening to picket because they have decided that to use strongarm tactics during contract negtiations. If they actually do go on strike public message is that their existing high paying jobs aren't paying them enough. They are willing to disrupt their customer's business and inconvenience the public because they demand more money. That's going to be a tough sell in this economy.
Good luck 705. This picket line puts you all to shame.

Its sad to think things have gotten down to this. Poor planning, and over inflated egos have gotten us here. Guess what!! we are going on strike. I will not cross any picket line no matter what the reason. I will lose my job, my house, and my health, I did not look for this fight but the fight has come to me. Some of you will never understand this. Probably because you dont have heart. see you on the battlefield ...........
And I see a whole army of my countrymen here in defiance of tyranny. You have come to fight as free men, and free men you are. What would you do without freedom? Will you fight?
Veteran soldier: Fight? Against that? No, we will run; and we will live.
Wallace: Aye, fight and you may die. Run and you'll live -- at least a while. And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom!!!
