My shift for tomorrow is canceled due to weather

    Do I still get paid? Does it count towards a layoff? Never happened before.

    I'm surprised they canceled so soon. Usually they wait until you are driving in to do that.

    You have to use a sick day if you want the pay.

    Yeah, we have a Sunday sort. We unload packages from our Saturday driving.

    For weather reasons, no . You can use a sick day if you want to be paid.

    unfortunately incliment weather can cancel a shift without pay in most cases, most places.
    I assume this is the saturday night sort (which ends around the morning of sunday)

    I agree about not getting paid, in these parts they’d consider it a one day layoff. The OP could be talking about a Sunday day sort.

    Many hubs have Sunday sorts. I've only seen day and night sorts on Sundays, but I'm sure there are others as well.
