National grievance day

grgrcr88

No It's not green grocer!
Ok mr know it all, show me where it is stated in any contract that I cannot solicit a grievance. Not only is it a protected right of a Union steward. It is my responsibility to tell people when their rights have been violated and that they should grieve it. The NLRB has ruled many times protecting Stewards rights to solicit grievances.

Come on Socks, I am waiting for your proof of your statement that soliciting grievances is forbidden.

Yes but working fast food doesn't count. You couldn't get a respectful equal paying job anywhere else. You know it, I know it, reply whatever you like but we both know it.
hello top of the industry, 100+ year old company, billions in profits. of course we couldn't. most of us have been in the delivery business our whole working lives.

Ignorants is bliss...I started working for UPS in 2000, 19 yrs old and in college...yes I said college UPSSOCKS. Worked there 2 years and a full time driving position became available and I took it. Now all of these dumb lazy drivers you are talking about, I can thank them for my wages, because these dumbies got the wages to where they are...and remember if it wasnt for the union you could find better wages at Mcdonalds :censored2:. I would also love to see how you could hang with me in the gym every morning 7 days a week. Its funny that almost every one of my friends have a degree, and every one of them make less money than me...I dont sound to DUMB after all do I?

Will wager my paycheck against yours that if we both left UPS tomorrow I would do much better in the job market than you would. Believe I could easily match the pay and benefits that I receive from UPS. I started at UPS while working towards a masters degree. Chose to stay at UPS for many various reasons and have not regretted that choice for a minute.

Why would I leave UPS...the point of a degree is to get a higher paying job...I thought? Im now in the process of opening a Quiznos...guess what funded by UPS to a man with know degree. When UPS offers me more money for the degree I will go finish my last year. Its always said if you left UPS this and that you couldn't get a job elsewhere...why would you leave?

How much do you want to bet? Most of you have trouble putting sentences together. I bet you can't find a job making a drivers pay and benefits anywhere else. I bet you would have trouble getting a job anywhere period. What would your resume say?

Name: Joe Union
Qualifications: I can take orders real well
Education: Some high school
Experience: I loaded trucks and now I'm a Package Delivery Specialist

I bet they would be beating down your door.

Yes all of UPS employees are supervised to some extent. It's how we keep things in line. The only difference is you folk can't supervise yourself yet anyone else. The comment is only stupid because you can't understand it. Your bodies are broken down because your lazy and you aren't in shape. I have come in contact with plenty of drivers that aren't broken down. They are the hard working good employees. The lazy out of shape drivers are the ones always complaining about their bodies.
i work with drivers and part timers who taught school, owned and still operate stores, electrical, mechanical, and engineering degrees, held and still hold public office{judge executive, magistrate, city and school council, etc.} and among some who are just good hard working people who just enjoy their job.i have also had managers and sups who had difficulty speaking rationally and comprehending social matters.in the 28 years i have been here we have been through 25 managers less than half are still employed due to inability to do a fair days work.and some were just dishonest.the only driver that lost his job at our center in 28 years was a guy who lost a wife due to terminal illness and began drinking heavy and not taking his blood pressure meds, and he was a great person, just couldnt get a grip on his problems.

calling someone a :censored2:, doesn't exactly make you sound intelligent. Using the word "ignorants" doesn't help your cause. You also relate going to the gym 7 days a week to your intelligence in some way. All and all your the teamster poster child. You sound very dumb.

You know what "Grinds my gears" ?

Companies like UPS : They work every driver in average atleast 10hrs per day.
That equals 1 new driver job out of existing 5 that could easily be created.
The employees would have a family life again.
And the US economy would recover, if all firms quit such a +10hr day policy.

Personally, I see OT as a messure to help out in need, maybe once or twice a week (max), but on a constant daily basis, that is just being cheap, greedy and taking advantage.
To cover their butts, they almost force every employee to constribute to the UW, so they can claim they are a great community orientated company, but in reality don't give their workers the time of day to have any decent family time.

Maybe, people on here should stop blaming a politician for not creating enough jobs.
Just look at your employer - blame it, for a change !

Was kind of shocked when I learned about the 8 hour request. And when I tell others about it, they too are usually puzzled. What's funny is my Union working father has a sticker on his hard hat. Says something along the lines of "Unions. Bringing you the weekend and 8 hour workday since 19XX" or whatever.
