Hello! My name is Doug and I was hired as a casual package delivery driver a few days ago. I got the job minutes after sitting down with HR. They had me get my DOT Cert and take my road test the very same day. I passed and now start training on Monday. They had me fill out union initiation forms and said that I should expect dues to come out of my first check and on. Is that right? I thought I needed 30 days before I could be officially brought in? Thanks for taking your time to read.

Yeah, you won’t pay dues until you qualify. After you make seniority your monthly dues begin. You’ll also have to pay an initiation fee, you can pay that up front or have them take it out of your check weekly.

Best of luck and welcome aboard.
