New Video! Is the buyout even worth it?

I get it, but those taking the buyout most likely already have the years for their pension and retiree healthcare. You're signing a legal contract. Do you really expect UPS to not make the payments?

If you're a year or two away from retirement, OK. But if you're months away, I would take the risk. Get $30-$50K and not have to work. That is a no brainer.
In my case as a single person, I would try to get any major medical stuff done while I was still working and go without insurance for the month or two that I was waiting for my retiree care to kick in.

DELACROIX

In the Spirit of Honore' Daumier
Lake house payment

Brand new ski boat

Brand new truck to pull the ski

A couple of Sea-Doos

And two ex-wives

And getting a couple of kids from the new wives in their 50s

The struggle is real out here for a lot of of these guys!!!

You don’t get kicked out automatically as long as you’re working no matter how old you are. Medicare would become your secondary insurance while working!

The killer would be the 2 X wife’s..:princess::hello,soldier:

Center manager said no one is allowed to take the buyout because we don't have enough drivers.
This is where a grievance could actually win. If your top senior guy wants to take it and has more seniority than others in other centers that get accepted; could have a case

But it does have to do with our contract agreement with the company
They can and they will.

Carol offers tourists24 $60K to leave early. She also offers thebrownblob that same $60K. If both accept there would then be two separate agreements. If both reject then it is business as usual. If tourusts24 rejects but thebrownblob, who works in another center and has less seniority, accepts, there would only be one agreement and tourists24 would have no recourse.

The Union has no say in who receives, accepts or rejects these offers.

We’ll see about that. Of course, the grievances have to be filed and fought before we can even find out

How can you grieve a topic not covered by the NMA or supplements? Don’t you have to reference a specific article in a grievance?

We have already shown that Article 6 does not apply to the buyout
But supplements have seniority languages. You can’t simply violate seniority language just because you want to issue a side contract deal outside the scope of what we do have. There’s a reason this is the first time in well over 100 years that UPS has done this
