I agree with Rand Paul. You can’t add to the deficit. You have to call balls and strikes! It’s hypocritical! I knew they would do this and Trump and the so called fiscal conservatives which they are only in name only are not wise and not helping long term if this passes!

The problem isn't the lower taxes, but rather the out of control spending. The big problem is that the bulk of our spending is the obligations on autopilot. Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, national defense, and now interest on the debt surpassing defense spending. No one has the will to fix entitlements and the population would just burn the country down if they did. Therefore, we will go bankrupt and have nothing instead of reasonable cuts now. Sorry, but the retirement age has to be phased upwards. The collection ages were set when people lived decades less.

It's human nature.

Everyone will always be happy to except whatever they can get from the government even knowing the consequences. Even conservatives who don't believe in such a handout will accept the handout for themselves. Example: I'm against the $7,500 EV tax incentive but if I bought an EV, then of course I'll gladly take it and so won't anyone else.

Politicians have to please every constituency that gets anything from the government. This is why it'll never stop until it's too late.

Look at how many people went crazy because of identifying USAID for cuts. That's just a discretionary item (not entitlement) and people were out with pitchforks.
